BloxNote Kira Follower Guide: Confirmed Role, Objective, and Open Questions

What the Kira Follower does in BloxNote: killer-team alignment, shared win condition with Kira, notebook carry and pass behavior, decoy duties, the no-write rule, and which permissions still need verification.

The Kira Follower is one of four confirmed roles in BloxNote (Kira, Kira Follower, L, Investigator) and plays on the Killers side alongside Kira. The official Roblox description treats the pair as one unit: "KIRA and KIRA FOLLOWER - Work together to DELETE all players and specifically DELETE L to win." Creator footage reflects the same reading, with players describing the round as "Kira and Kira's helper" operating as a two-person killer pair. Community players disagree on how strong the role is — a 30-hour reviewer calls the Follower "almost objectively way more OP" than Kira itself, while other community guides treat it as a backup role; this may also vary by patch.

Confirmed objective: shared win condition with Kira

The Follower shares Kira's win condition. The developer description treats the two as a single killer side — "work together to DELETE all players" — with deleting L written directly into that goal. Role summaries describe the Follower's job as to "aid Kira while staying undetected," covering Kira through notebook passing, alibi cover, and misdirection. The Follower has no separate win condition in any current coverage, though one role-abilities page claims the Follower's win condition only "activates" after a notebook pass; treat that as unresolved until verified in-game.

Notebook access: carry, receive by pass, and hide

The Follower does not start the round holding the Death Note, but can receive and hold it. Mechanic coverage confirms Kira can hand the Death Note to the Follower when both are alive and close, after which either killer-team member may hold it. The Follower can also pick up a dropped notebook and hide it, which the beginner guide calls the only defense against an Investigator finding the prop.

Two practical details matter for coordination:

  • The pass animation is reportedly identical to the holder simply putting the notebook away, so a hand-off hides Kira-side movements but also makes the pair's coordination harder to read.
  • Only a Kira or Kira Follower can interact with the notebook before passing has occurred. A Follower must either race their Kira to a spawn table or wait for a pass.

Note that coverage is inconsistent on where the notebook originates: one death-note guide says it drops at one of six fixed spawn tables the killer pair races to, while the wiki's FAQ treats the notebook as part of the Kira role rather than a map pickup. Check your current build in-game.

Write access: only the active Kira slot writes names

The rule most consistently repeated across rulebook and beginner coverage is that the Follower cannot write names — only the active Kira slot has write access. The game-rules guide flags this as a commonly missed rule that causes new Followers to waste rounds trying to write and expose the team. The confirmed Follower toolkit is carrying, hiding, picking up a dropped notebook, and acting as a decoy.

However, the post-pass situation is genuinely inconsistent in current coverage: one in-game tutorial narration describes a Follower-assisted ID steal via Shinigami Eyes, and role-abilities pages describe a Follower kill threat "after the notebook is passed," which conflicts with the no-write rule. Verify current server behavior in-game before relying on either version.

Working with Kira: decoy, cover, and meeting behavior

Confirmed Follower duties center on drawing suspicion away from Kira:

  • Meetings: The game-rules guide describes the Follower's job as absorbing a single vote by playing aggressively and pulling Town suspicion away from the real Kira. Another how-to-win guide frames it simply as being "boring," and late-game, the decoy vote target.
  • Around writes: Run decoy paths near task panels while the holder writes, and never cluster around the writer.
  • Pathing: Mirroring Kira's route gives the killer team two sets of eyes but risks exposing the pairing, so vary paths and avoid standing beside Kira in meetings.

Expect counterplay: L-side sources note Followers almost always vote in lockstep with Kira, making the Follower the usual secondary vote target, and the Follower often waits for the safe skip so the notebook holder is not ejected.

Relationship to L as a target

L is the killers' priority target, not just another body: the developer description writes deleting L into the Kira team's win. One confirmed Kira-side pattern is the "Follower sacrifice" — the Follower walks into L's proximity first and draws the ID check, burning L's intel tool on a wrong target. On the reverse side, L's vote-logging tools are used specifically to flag Followers by coordinated voting patterns.

Whether an L death alone ends the round, or only completes part of the condition alongside other deletions, is not spelled out in current coverage and remains unresolved.

Open questions to recheck after each update

  • Whether the Follower can write names after receiving the notebook by pass: the no-write rule is the community consensus, but it conflicts with the tutorial narration describing Follower-assisted ID steals and with role-abilities pages describing a post-pass kill threat — verify current server behavior directly.
  • Whether the Follower can purchase or benefit from Shinigami Eyes, and whether Follower task-meter contributions exist. A reported Kira-meter recharge from passing notes or completing small tasks has not been independently confirmed.
  • Whether deleting L alone triggers a round end for the killer team, or only completes part of their condition.
  • Whether the Follower win condition mechanically "activates" only after a notebook pass, or whether the Follower simply shares Kira's win condition.
  • Exact Follower interaction rules if Kira is voted out, including notebook handoff and ownership mechanics after an ejection.
  • Lobby size and Follower seat odds: coverage describes 10-player vs 13-player servers, and roughly 10% per-player odds vs a fixed two-killer-seat rule; none of these figures are officially confirmed, so check the current lobby setup in-game.

BloxNote launched in September 2026 and is still being patched, so follower permissions, pass animation behavior, and objective wording should be rechecked after every balance or role update via the official Roblox page and patch notes.
