BloxNote Kira Guide: Objective, Follower Teamwork, and Kill Mechanics

Kira's killer-side objective in BloxNote, cooperation with the Kira Follower, the ID-to-notebook kill dependency, why L is the priority target, and confirmed mechanics versus open questions.

Kira's job in BloxNote is simple to state and hard to execute: as one half of the killer side, you and the Kira Follower work together to delete all players, with deleting L specifically written into the win condition. From the Kira seat, that means finding which player is L and eliminating him while evading the investigators — before the shared task meter fills to 100%, which is an alternate Town win.

The two-step kill chain: steal an ID, then write the name

Kira's kill power is gated by identity information. The core chain is: first steal a target's in-game ID at close range, then write that ID into the Death Note, with the kill resolving roughly one second later. This structure makes Kira a positioning-and-patience role rather than an aggression role — you need both a stolen ID and a moment out of sight. Without a stolen name, the notebook alone cannot fire. If close-range steals are denied, the paid Shinigami Eyes reveal is the fallback (more below).

Why L is your priority target

L is not just another body. The killers' win condition is written around removing the detective, and community guidance frames the round as a race: remove L early, ideally with a Death Note write before the detective accumulates enough evidence to push a vote against you. One caveat: whether an L death alone ends the round, or only contributes to the killers' condition alongside other deletions, is not spelled out in-game — check the round-end behavior in your current build.

Working with the Kira Follower

Kira and the Follower form a two-player killer team with a shared win condition. Only the active Kira slot can write names; the Follower is a courier and decoy, not a second writer. The pass is the partnership's key mechanic: handing the notebook to the Follower keeps the kill chain alive if Kira is voted out or senses a vote coming. Community reports note the pass animation is currently hard to distinguish from simply pocketing the notebook, which hides who holds it but also makes own-team coordination harder. Practical pair habits:

  • Pass the notebook only when out of sight.
  • Don't stand beside Kira during meetings, so the pairing stays hidden.
  • Use the Follower to absorb suspicion and act as a decoy.

Shinigami Eyes: the identity fallback

When the lobby denies close-range ID steals, Kira can purchase Shinigami Eyes from the in-game shop. This converts roughly fifteen percent of the shared task meter into a limited-window reveal that exposes player identities without the inspection cooldown. The cost is steep — if the Investigator side is already pushing the bar quickly, surrendering that much progress can effectively gift them the round. Reserve the purchase for situations where close-range steals have been successfully denied, or when only a few high-value targets remain. It is not a round-one opener.

Kill execution: timing, cover, and the tempo race

Because the kill resolves within roughly a second of a confirmed write, prevention is the Town side's only real defense — so Kira's entire skill is creating the window. Community guidance is consistent on the pattern:

  • Never write in a crowded room. Opening the notebook is visible, and a public write is treated as a confession.
  • Scout corners that break line of sight early, then wait for a target to walk into one rather than chasing.
  • Never write during the first forty seconds of a round. The cleanest first kills are reported in the seventy-to-ninety-second window.
  • Race the task meter. Every second the room spends arguing in meetings is a second the meter is not being pushed. Kira wants an ejection in the first two meetings to break the task-meter rhythm.

The risk of impatience is real: a recorded Kira who killed too early and got caught put it plainly — "I got greedy, bro. I decided to kill that fast."

Confirmed mechanics versus open questions

What is firmly established about Kira in the current build:

  1. Only the active Kira slot writes names; the Follower is a courier/decoy.
  2. A kill requires a previously stolen ID plus the write.
  3. The write-to-kill window is roughly one second, with no counterplay after the decision.
  4. The killers' win condition is deleting everyone, with L written in as the priority.
  5. The notebook passes between the Kira pair, and the pass animation is visually ambiguous right now.
  6. Shinigami Eyes trades roughly 15% of task progress for a limited identity reveal.

What remains genuinely open — and worth checking in-game after each balance update:

  • The exact round-end trigger (kill majority, kill quota, or deleting everyone).
  • Whether killing L alone ends the round or shortens the killers' task.
  • Where the notebook originates: descriptions differ between it being part of the Kira role and it appearing at map spawn tables with Kira having pickup priority.
  • Precise cooldown values — community estimates only, so treat any numbers you see as unconfirmed.
  • Win-rate figures by role, which no reliable public data currently tracks.

The game is early in its life and updates frequently, so recheck Kira's permissions, follower interaction, and win-condition wording after each role-balance update.
